On November 20th, 2019,
I was very humbled being able to present the result of my Artificial Intelligence Laboratory research, titled “EDGAN: Disguising Text as an Image” in a prestigious event of ASEAN IVO Forum 2019.
The ASEAN IVO is a global alliance of institutes and universities in the ASEAN region and Japan. The organization seeks and identifies strategic ICT research areas in the ASEAN region and supports collaborative projects in them.
The “ICT Virtual Organization of ASEAN Institutes and NICT” or ASEAN IVO Forum that time was held at the Crimson Hotel Filinvest City, Manila from 20-21 November 2019, in Manila, Philippines. This year’s two-day forum is organized by the ASEAN IVO Steering Committee membered by Japan’s National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) and Philippine’s Mapua University and DOST – Advanced Science and Technology Institute (DOST-ASTI).
It was an exciting experience for me, and it become a very valuable lesson. There, I made many acquaintances with the most famous researchers in Southeast Asia. I also got a lot of interesting information and knowledge from the researches presented.
I am very grateful to be able to attend this event. Especially when the travel expenses are covered 😋
Presenting Research
The research I presented there titled “EDGAN: Disguising Text as an Image”. As it is not clear enough, it’s about hiding text into images. The difference here is that we use Generative Adversarial Network to do the job.
